I am a female twenty-something Sydneysider. I gave my life to Jesus simply because it just…makes sense. I don’t know if I could say the same for my entries in this journal, but I created this account so that I would have the space to express my personal responses to and experiences with Christianity and Jesus. That’s not to say I don’t falter, that I don’t have questions – I have lots of questions, and lots of incorrect information! – and that’s exactly what it means to have a personal faith. It attacks your very core, it destabilises you, it makes you rethink everything, including what you had previously ‘realised’ to be true. Believing in God isn’t the apocalypse of rational thought – in fact, it urges you to exercise your mind, to accommodate both the sacred and secular in a single worldview. I hope to find others similarly interested in these ideas, so we can share and discuss thoughts over a cup of virtual joe. I’ve never been an “intellectual”, and I’ll never claim to achieve that sort of status in my writing, but I’m always interested in what you have to say, and I’m always interested in changing my position for the right reasons! This journal won’t be filled with attempts at critical thought, but even day-to-day things, because after all, that’s where God really has his most significant influence – in the everyday.
